Vegetable planting can be really easy and simple to do, and it does not matter whereabouts you live or what size garden you have available to you, you can grow lovely fresh vegetables. Working a home vegetable garden is becoming more popular, especially as the credit crunch really bites hard – we are all looking for ways to save money. With vegetable planting you can not only save money, you can eat more healthily, get out into the fresh air and also get more exercise.
Vegetable planting does require some hard work, but as you learn new skills and techniques along the way, you can soon make your vegetable growing into a pleasant experience. In no time at all you will be able to taste your first delicious, fresh, vegetables, and it will all be worth while.
If you are new to growing your own veggies, then you will be better off starting with some easy to grow vegetables in your garden – this way your confidence will soon build up and you will be able to tackle the vegetables that are slightly more difficult to grow.
Some nice easy vegetables to plant for your first crops could be carrots, beetroot and lettuce as they are all fairly simple to grow. Other easy vegetables for growing yourself when you first start out are french beans, broad beans and radishes. If space is not an issue then you could have a try at courgettes, cucumbers and tomatoes. These particular veg are not only easy to grow, but they generally produce quite large crops from each single plant, so you will be able to enjoy them for a long time!
So start your home vegetable garden, go off and buy yourself some seeds, or you can always go to a nursery and buy small plants. Remember to do your vegetable planting or sowing in stages, otherwise you will have too many veg and won’t be able to eat them all!
